Is KnowledgePresenter SCORM Compliant?

Yes - fully SCORM 1.2 compliant. You can see some documents related to this at SCORM Samples.

Can KP Learner Manager import lessons created in other authoring tools?

Yes, as long as they are SCORM 1.2 compliant.

Is KnowledgePresenter Section 508 compliant?

We have put a lot of effort into adding a range of features into KP to ensure it meets all sorts of accessibility requirements. Please see the Accessibility Brochure.

If I create a quiz in KnowledgePresenter Q, do I have to run this online, or can I download it and run it locally, or insert it into my Learning Management System?

Any quizzes you create online in KnowledgePresenter Q can be run online, or downloaded to your local machine as a SCORM compliant lesson. Once downloaded, it includes a IMS Manifest as well - so you can import it into any SCORM compliant Learning Management System.

Do you have a sample SCORM compliant lesson I can download to test with my Learning Management System?

Yes - see below:

I plan to host my course at the service provider X. Will they allow us to install your LMS on their server?

Generally the answer to this is yes. This is because our LMS is ASP based, and does not require any 'installation' as such. All the hosting service needs to provide is a Windows based server, with ASP, and database support.

I don't have a server - do you do hosting?

At this stage, no. But we can help you by recommending some inexpensive hosting solutions that will allow you to host our LMS.

I don't know much about servers. If I purchase KP Learner Manager Enterprise, will you help me install it on my server?

Yes - absolutely!

How many users does KP Learner Manager Enterprise support?

How many users our LMS supports depends mainly on the database being used, and the server it is on. Our LMS is highly scalable, and will handle many tens of thousands of users. But for this number, you would need to be using Microsoft SQL Server (fully supported by our LMS), and have a fairly powerful server.

How is KnowledgePresenter licensed?

KnowledgePresenter is a perpetual license, and is licensed on a per developer basis. So, generally speaking, a license is required for each developer. These developers can create as much training and lessons and courses as they wish, and no further licensing is payable to us.

KP Learner Manager Enterprise is licensed on a per server basis. You can have as many users, or administrators as you like, and no further licensing is required by us.

Can I create courses to run off CD-ROM?

Yes. Both individual lessons, and even complete courses be be deployed from CD-ROM. KP Learner Manager even creates a personal Learning Management System that will record user progress when the course is run from CD-ROM.

What languages are supported by KnowledgePresenter and KP Learner Manager Enterprise?

KnowledgePresenter runs in English, but any language that supports standard character sets can be used. This includes French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Scandinavian languages, and more. KP includes a number of preset language files, which can be edited, and you can create your own. Other languages, like Chinese, are supported by the clipboard (pasting text as an image).

Please see this Sample Lesson in Portuguese as an example.

Also, see our white paper on foreign languages.

KP Learner Manager Enterprise is much the same - a language editor allows you to edit all strings visible by LMS users - right up to creating a different language version.

Does KnowledgePresenter support mathematical symbols and equations?

Yes - via an extensive range of math symbols, and also via Microsoft Word. See Equations in KnowledgePresenter and Equations from Microsoft Word as an example.

Does KnowledgePresenter support multiple developers?

Yes. See our Multiple Developers white paper.

I already have some content created in PowerPoint. Can I use this in KnowledgePresenter?

Yes. KP supports the importing of PowerPoint documents in a variety of ways. See PowerPoint Webinar for more details.

Our company does not allow the use of plugins. Can KnowledgePresenter create content in HTML format?

Yes. KP creates interactive HTML documents that require no plugins at all. Instant deployment. Of course, to export in HTML, you cannot use any multimedia.

What format multimedia does KP support?

Flash, Windows Media, Real, QuickTime, MP4, MP3, WAV.

Do lessons created in KP run on portable devices, such as the IPhone, or IPOD Touch?

Yes - and there is more to come. Lessons created in KnowledgePresenter will in general run on an IPhone, or IPOD Touch, but we've added some features in KnowledgePresenter X to make this even better. Android based phones will also run content quite well. KnowledgePresenter also allows certain lessons to be exported in Flash (SWF) format, which can run natively on many portable devices. KnowledgePresenter also exports in PowerPoint format (if you have PowerPoint installed), which can also be played back on many portable devices.

KP Learner Manager Enterprise Edition X also runs quite happily on Android based mobile devices, the IPhone and IPOD Touch.

Quizzes, polls and surveys created in KnowledgePresenter Q will run directly and beautifully on the Android phones, IPhone and IPOD Touch.

KnowledgePresenter X allows you to create other files that run directly on portable devices, including:
