KnowledgePresenter® Professional comes with its own Learning Management System to allow you to deliver and track courses and users (Standard Edition comes with KnowledgePresenter - Enterprise Edition available seperately. Differences between the two versions are outlined below).
This LMS is designed to run on Windows servers (IIS), and by default, connects to an Access database. However, using ADO, and changing connection strings, you can connect to other ADO databases (tested with Microsoft SQL).
Features
- Create a course from your KnowledgePresenter® presentations, activities or lessons in a drag and drop environment - no scripting or programming required. Lessons can be grouped into modules or entire courses.
- Installs directly onto IIS servers - no DLLS or executables are required to be installed.
- Can be fully tested locally before uploading.
- Students are tracked on a name and password basis
- For end users, no software or plugins are required - runs directly in a browser.
- Course displays in fully collapsible and expandible menu system
- Full administrator functions, including add, edit and delete users, view scores, edit user information, sort users into departments, create and edit multiple administrators with full access, or restricted to certain departments
- Individual lessons in a course can have time limits associated with them
- Individual lessons can have comments associated with them
- Individual lessons can be restricted so that they only can be attempted a set number of times
- Individual lessons can be set only to be available when one or more other lessons have been completed or passed
- Allows lessons created in KP, as well as other files, such as DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF, or SWF to be included as well
- Records, times, dates, scores, status, total time in course, times lessons attempted, individual objectives within each lesson or quiz (if supported by that lesson or quiz)

Additional Features found in the Enterprise Edition

More Information
Note
Lessons created with KnowledgePresenter Professional will work with any third party SCORM compliant Learning Management System. KP Learner Manager generates proprietary course files (basically an index of lessons) that cannot necessarily be used with other Learning Management Systems.
KP Learner Manager can now export to a SCORM 1.2 compliant course that can be used in other third party LMS systems.
KP Learner Manager will be able to import SCORM compliant lessons from third parties, as well as open complete course files or manifests (a series of lessons) created in other Learning Management Systems.

Licensing
Once you purchase a KnowledgePresenter® Professional, or KP-Learner Manager Enterprise license, your licensed version of KP-Learner Manager system is free for use to deliver your own courseware - no matter how many users you have.
The only licensing restriction is where you are developing courseware specfically for a third party - i.e. you are acting as a contractor or consultant. Under these circumstances, a license of KnowledgePresenter® Professional or KP-Learner Manager Enterprise must be purchased by or on behalf of that third party before it can be installed on their server.
